Job Role: Paralegal—Medical Negligence Team
Type: Permanent, full time
Hours: 36 hours per week Monday-Friday (9am to 5.15pm/5pm on a Friday)
We will consider part time/alternative hours for the right candidates.
Location: Kirkby or Huyton Office

The Role
We are seeking applications from Paralegals who ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in Litigation work (Medical Negligence experience is ideal but not essential).
The successful candidate will require the skills and knowledge to work independently on files and the ability to meet targets. To achieve this, you will have a genuine interest in Litigation, be able to work in a team, as well as independently, and have strong communication skills.
In addition, you will have effective time management skills to prioritise work and meet deadlines and have strong attention to detail.
Main Duties
• Performing legal research to assist with case progression.
• Dealing with new enquiries and preparing initial paperwork.
• Discussing funding options with clients.
• Preparing documents such as Letters of Claim and Witness Statements.
• Preparing Court forms such as Claim Forms and Certificates of Service.
• Preparing Instructions to experts and Counsel.
• Obtaining and reviewing medical records.
• Assisting other Fee Earners in the Team, as and when required.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this role is £21,000 to £26,000pa depending on experience.
Annual holiday entitlement in a full calendar year is 20 days (increasing yearly to 25 days after 5 years’ service). This is in addition to bank holidays and an extra 3 days to be used between Christmas and New Year.
